I'm building an M touring, will my e36 pedal assembly go into a 92 e34? I have 2 sets already, how about the shifter, as well? Bob

No. The pedal assembly you need fits E31, E32, and E34. Obviously E34 is the easiest to find.

and early to late, motorized/non-motorized column, all the manual pedals are the same. (well they were for my wagon, 94 non motorized car. the 95 motorized column pedal cluster worked.

FYI: The clutch master cylinder aren't the same on the M5 and the other E34s, it is much larger and you require the M5 clutch line.

It does not affect the use of the e34 M5 clutch if you have the "smaller" master cylinder. I have been using the e34 m5 clutch/pressure plate with the 535i master cylinder for a couple years without any problems. This is on the e34. It was on the e28 for a couple years before that.
