On my m20b25 89 525i

my idle control vavle just slides right out of the engine... i know it should not jus slide straight out with no force.

I was told to "just put some J.B. Weld on it, it'll be fine" so before i go with this suggestion that didnt not sound so assuring i wanted to double check...

Any advice on what i can use to attach the icv correctly??

ummm it should be attached to two hoses so it shouldnt be going anywhere. it also has a rubber ring that attaches to some sheet metal below the intake mani

+1....also, make sure the plastic clip that goes to the manifold isn't broken and snaps in securely or you will get a vacuum leak and will cause inconsistant idle.

#6 is the rubber hose.
Bracket #4 is holding the rubber mount #5, ICV valve #3 is being held by the rubber mount #5.
