anyone here used one of these?

http://www.npcompleteperformance.com/wotbox

i'm interested in this, would allow no lift shifting with the stock ecu. I know of a few people using this product on the overly complicated ecu on the n54 w great results.

easier shifting
less wear on the tranny
faster shifting
less boost drop between gears

it cuts ignition dropping revs quickly, taking load off the engine/tranny while shifting, etc.

I got this email back from them:

====================

Hi,

The WOT Box is universal and can be used on any car. The wiring can be adapted to any configuration of ignition coils and input signals. The no-lift shift will definitely work, because it is very simple. The launch control is also very likely to work, but sometimes requires adjustment of the tune to disable misfire codes on late model cars (usually 2005+).

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jon

see here for a thread for the n54 application:

I've always wondered about these. I know there is/was a write-up for just generic "WOT box" on here, somewhere. BUT, I can't remember exactly. I want to say it was on a non-FI car and the owner could never get it to work properly, all the time.

I don't see why it couldn't be done.

Racelogic Traction Control can do this... as well as traction control/launch control.

Really? Also we can shift without lifting the foot of the pedal ? I know WOT BOX works on all VWs and AUDIs , I was gonna buy one but if this will work on our car and have launch control and all , I'll be all over this !!!

When was there a GB on NickG tuning?

He's talking about the GB for Racelogic which CAN do both of those things. NickG just needs to modify the tune to turn off misfire detection, since the Racelogic box essentially works by causing misfires.

Thread resurrection....Shuasha, Will disabling misfire detection where there is no protection against engine damage ? For the case where you have an actual misfire?

A 2 step disables fuel, no engine damage. I have this with many RPM settings on stock DME.

I believe he is referring to other instances... When NOT on launch control etc.

Turning off missfire detection just means the CEL won't flash. If your missfiring in a turbo car you will know it.

Thanks for the info, Just want to clarify how the RLTC should be setup:

ASC throttle body removed
10K resistor added for ABS
Racelogic system installed
Turn off misfire detection in the OBD2 software

Now how should I repurpose the ASC button?
