A/C Compressor

How can I tell if my A/C compressor is on the way out ? With the A/C on I hear a loud whinning noise that mimics the rpm sound. As the rpms get faster the noise seems to do the same. Thanks for your thoughts

Usually will have oily grime around the front seals. If it's clean and dry, it's prolly ok.
