Thanks everyone for their recommendations.
I have removed the pictures and details as this thread has already served its purpose and no need to keep the seller's pictures up here.

if anyone is selling their e34 and around MA, NE area, pm me. I am looking for one, unfortunately has to be auto since wife refuses to drive stick.

Prefer black or gray exterior. Budget around 3K. Would love another touring but those are rare.

Check the underside for rust and see how extensive it is. I have a lot less rust than you on the body itself - but generally in the same places - and my undercarriage isn't too pretty. Let's just say I'm afraid of - and won't be - driving it in the winter ever again.

Dear god that is a lot of rust!

Mine was no where near that bad and it was still big $$ to fix.

I would personally pass on this car or if you must buy, get it for around $1k.

With all the rust, the car isn't worth much in my book. Cleaning up the rust will cost major money or a retrofit of doors from a donor car.
Tons of rusty E34s here in Ontario and they all go between 1,000 to 1,500.
There is some super clean 535i and 525i for the same price also.

Seems like everyone is dumping their E34s for newer models.

Run from that rust like it's trying to rape your children and pillage your belongings.

About $200 for parts/scrap. Not much good left on that one.

damn! i really like the color combo. Only one I have found with black leather interiors.

Can I clean up the rust myself just to make it look decent... sand, paint, clear.

Asking 2.5k. Thinking my tops is 1.5K but not sure even if that is worth it.

There is a lot of rust there to fix. Wait until you remove the m-tech rocker covers. I bet it really bad back there.

If he doesn't have records after 11 years don't assume anything!!

As for the rust, it's still probably a good winter beater as long as it's mechanically sound. Check it out good and offer 1.5k, not more than 2k.

I would offer him $400.00 for the interior and other parts and ask him if he wants you to junk the rest for him for a minimal charge. No records and yet he let the rust run wild but kept all maintainence updated. Ask him how much beach front property he has left for sale in Arizona?

Sorry for two posts. I bought my e34 with grey interior then found a donor with black and swapped everything out. my car is a 1990 with 1995 interior. Driver seat is the only piece that I had to rewire rest was plug and play. Run from rust as it is more than skin deep on that car.

No, not really. It's not worth the time to do a half-ass job. It will be showing through again in 3 months. If he's asking 2500, there's no way in heck you'll get him down to a decent price. Just walk away.

smart move. The rust and doors on that car are not worth salvaging.

530 -> meh (no offence to my bretheren)
auto -> meh
rust -> parts car
no records -> reduce price
$2500? guy is smoking something

I wouldn't pay more than $800 for it as a parts car

Decided to pass on it.

Very smart move. There are plenty of good E34's to be had. Be patient.

Just found this car on Craigslist and sent an email asking for bigger pics. My god that is a lot of rust. I may try to buy the wheels.
