If anyone tells me to search, I will literally drive to their house and ask them to show me the results cuz I can't find it!
I don't want to eyeball it. That's bad juju waiting to happen.

I ASSUME I would go about this by locking the cam into place with the cam tool with the lobe phased correctly. From there use dial indicators to position the cams exactly.
I dont have a m5x motor, but thats how I would do it on M42 and I ASSUME it would be similar.

There are plenty of things I don't want to eyeball.

All I did was place the replacement cam exactly the way the exhaust was. (ie referencing say cyl-1 lobe exactly the way it was...pointing directly at a support casting on the head)
You can only place it one way because of the sprocket to chain interference. Any other way and its obvious.
Within the cam to sprocket, you get a few degrees of freedom with the slots to experiment with some timing.
Just remember to turn the engine over a few times to ensure no valve to piston problems.
