Odd noises

My e34 has been fairly noisy in the engine compartment since the day i bought it. its been about 6 months now and i finally have gotten around to fixing it. the car seems to have the same power as when i got it so its not effecting performance at all. it seems like the noise is coming from near the front right quarter of the engine bay. i believe it could be the water pump, or fan clutch. anybody have ideas? and if it is one or the other does anyone know from experience how hard it is to replace DYI?

This is going to be a tough one. Could be many things.
Is the noise when you have the car idling? Can you make a recording?
Do you have a mechanic stethoscope to try to isolate the noise?

What kind of noise is it?

The noise is all the time, I think it is part of the water pump cause it looks like it shakes a good bit ill make a video here in a few hours

Both fan clutch and water pump are easy. Well, provided you remember that 'right tighty' does not apply to the fan clutch nut. Maybe use the old garden hose trick to narrow it down. This was brought up again recently:

OK i took a video of it, you cant really see the vibration too well, the frame rate isnt high enough and i dont own a camera any faster
