Is there a way to code the car so that the coming home lights would go on automatically? Instead of having to blink the high beams?
And second, do all the e46's have the option for changing the coming home lights ie. When i use this function all the lights turn on, but i'd rather have only the front fog lights and rear license plate lights... only problem is when i looked trough NCS i only found the option for headlights?
Am i missing something?
What happens if i add some functions/lines trough ncs, anybody ever done it?

Hi here are all the info i have collected on home lights for the e46 .NO you can not add function /parameter sentences to your modules all you can code is the ones that you read in your module trace..
HEIMLEUCHTEN : wert_01 is off wert_02 enables home lights (flashing high beams with key off activates)
HEIMLEUCHTEN_ABBRUCH : home light stop
HEIMLEUCHTEN_AL :home lights are low beam
HEIMLEUCHTEN_BL : " " " brake light
HEIMLEUCHTEN_BLK : " " " Blinkers.
HEIMLEUCHTEN_FL : " " " high beam
HEIMLEUCHTEN_FUNKSCHL :home lights on after locking car with remote
HEIMLEUCHTEN_KL58G : home lights are interior backlighting, cluster, ashtray etc.
HEIMLEUCHTEN_KZL : " " " license plate
HEIMLEUCHTEN_NSL : " " " rear foglight
HEIMLEUCHTEN_NSW : " " " front foglight
HEIMLEUCHTEN_RFS : " " " reverse light
HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL_H :" " " rear parking lights
HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL_V :" " " forward parking lights

Ok, thank you!
I'm still learning how to use NCS, but i didn't see that many Homelight options in mine, i had like 3-4 different:
Atleast these
HEIMLEUCHTEN : wert_01 is off wert_02 enables home lights (flashing high beams with key off activates)
HEIMLEUCHTEN_ABBRUCH : home light stop
HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL_H :" " " rear parking lights
HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL_V :" " " forward parking lights
the others i didn't see, and i'm guessing they all come after each other in the module trace. I might be wrong, will have a look at some point again, but could it be that not all cars have all those options available?
Ok, i digged in abit more and found them all... strange that they are not all after each other!
But i have another question which doesn't have to do with the lights...
But where can i find the options that when opening the door by the handle, the windows go down for like 0,2 secs?
This is usually done in convertibles, but since i have a sedan with a gm5 from a convertible, i find it abit strange and maybe even annoying since it's not a convertible...
I tired changing FH_ABSENKEN_VERDECK_OEFF (Lower power windows when opening convertible top) to not active, but it didn't help... i'm pretty sure there's somewhere the option to change ie. the time how long they go down/how much or something?
Thanks in advanced
Another Edit, i found all the homelights options except for HEIMLEUCHTEN_FUNKSCHL :home lights on after locking car with remote? Could this be in another module? Tho i instead found HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL3_H ? what's the number 3 in there?
Hopefully i'm not making this too complicated

Hi i am unsure of which FH function is for the window lowering with door open, but a better option is to recode the GM to your ZCS and then the module will know that the car is not a vert,

Yeah, ok.
There's probably guides in this forum i hope? Cause i don't know how to do that... maybe a small 'point out'? :)
So anybody happen to know in which module i could find: HEIMLEUCHTEN_FUNKSCHL :home lights on after locking car with remote
Or could it be that my car doesn't have anything like that?
And then what could HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL3_H be? i know what HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL_H is, but what's the number 3 for?
-thanks

Hi guide is attached for the recode.i do not have the HEIMLEUCHTEN_FUNKSCHL in my e46 trace either so maybe i got this mixed in from another model. As for your #3 after you recode try and tell what the result is.

Oh, so it was that easy. Thank you rondo for the pdf file! I'll get to it this week and also check the HEIMLEUCHTEN #3 function ... Could it perhaps be the 3rd brake light that's by the roof line?
Anyway i'll try to check it out once i'm recoding!
Thanks again for your help! Much appreciated

Small update, I haven't yet recoded but i just checked the differences between the Gm5 that was originally in my car and the used converts Gm5 that i'm now using, and this HEIMLEUCHTEN_SL3_H wasn't in my 'own' Gm5, so i'm guessing it's something for convertibles... SO i won't go testing it out any more, since it will probably not work anyway in my car because it's a sedan.
And i haven't either found the HEIMLEUCHTEN_FUNKSCHL, so i guess it's not an option for the E46 :bawling
Unless it's hidden in another ECU which I doubt
