It turns out that the ASC cable can be too tight and hold the butterfly closed about 10 degrees while thinking that it is completely open. You may not think 10 degrees is much, and it doesn't look like much, but I assure you it robs enough air at WOT that you can actually tell the car is down on power. Everyone of my friends said I was nuts and there was no way I could feel that if it was affecting things...

Today I was messing around with my random CPS connection issue and while I was at it I disconnected the ASC cable (since I couldn't loosen it any more) and the butterfly went to exactly full open. I took the car out with a friend and we both could tell a pretty major difference at WOT. Its like my car is a whole different car now! The ASC disables itself since the cable is not connected, but hey, its summertime, who needs it anyway ;)

Duh.

The ASC is the "arbiter" of your throttle.

If it ain't happy, you ain't happy.

lol damn i need to check mine. but im not touching it since it magically started working again after 6 months of throwing me a light for no reason. i literally didnt touch the setup, only replaced the module and actuator motor to try and get it working....but nothing. then one day loaded up with tons of heavy crap, took off in first, into second (with my foot in it) and the light started blinking and then turned OFF for the first time ever. been working ever since.

My cable is actually pretty loose. I guess that's why I never had any problems with my ASC+T

Nothing like thinking your car is running perfectly, and then finding out that it was not 100%...it is like a free power mod!

Yes, so it may dyno a little higher than it did before now. It still seems like its a little slow in say 3rd, but that could just be because I am not used to driving around in 3rd.

Guess I will just buy all 3 cables...ASC, CC and Accelerator.

The light could be for many reasons. I had mine coming on because something was blocking the throttle movement for the ASC, so it would toss an erorr when it pulled the cable, and the butterfly didn't return as expected. Similarly, now it throws the error because when it pulls the cable, nothing happens :)

You can read the codes in the ASC module to see what the problem is, but you need a DIS machine and an interface.
