My Spec 3 F1 clutch, flywheel and pressure plate are warped and needs to be replaced. I plan on using the stock dual mass flywheel and pressure plate on my S52. Are there any clutches that will work with this, either southbend or clutchnet?

From doing some research, the southbend stage 5 or 3, or clutchnet red is the way to go. Does anyone know if the southbend stage 3 will handle 400 ft-lb to the wheels?

Maryland... week after bimmerfest east... bad clutch.... were you doing burnouts? :rofl

Dunno if SB Stg 3 will but clutchnet stuff for sure will. Not sure about the stock pressure plate though. Why stock PP?

Lol I saw the video. Unfortunately my car did not make it. I wanted to use the stock PP because they cost a lot less

The PP is often uprated. Not all the power holding capability is in the disc. I was not interested in experimenting so I spent the extra money for something known to work (Southbend Stage 5 kit on stock dual mass). However I have over 500 lbs rwtq and might one day go for more, so my options for daily driveable clutches was limited. You have more options at 400 lbs rwtq.

European Car tested the AA clutch kit years ago. The found the PP clamping force was raised by about 50%. (I ran this clutch for several years and liked it, but that was in supercharged form and making 368 lbsr rwtq -- in turbo form I have 517 lbs rwtq)

If you move to a puck clutch you can apply more PSI with the same input pressure, but driving characteristics will be compromised.

i used a clutch from hpf. saying it can hold up to 700whp and tq. it was the only clutch that i found that would work with the STOCK FLYWHEEL and handle a beating. The stock pp isnt going to hold up to much abuse. IMOits not worth the extra saving on pulling the tranny and doing it all over. its an expensive set up for a full faced disk and pp, but so far its holding 550whp like a champ and drives just like stock. Def worth the money.

I love my HPF feramic clutch (same thing as sB stage 5). It is so smooth and it works with the stock FW
