I'm looking to put a a turbo on my 1997 E36 M3. But I'm looking for a turn key setup, I ship the car to them and they put it on and make it works right the frist time.
So the question is how makes and install the best kit?

FYI, 10-11k is what you should expect to pay all said and done.

Try Techniques Tuning in FL. CES in NC, or TRM in GA. Some shops work with some of these companies and sell and install the kits or can concoct a custom kit for you if you have specific needs. Two such shops that are pretty well known are Maximum Psi in NJ and ICS in CT. I put together a very nice custom turbo kit that I installed myself using a lot of advice and some parts from ICS, some parts from Maximum Psi, and ECU tune, injectors and HFM from Techniques Tuning. For an off the shelf kit, I like the Techniques Tuning -- the kits have been around for a while and the tuning is about as flawless as it gets, but I am sure you will also get recommendations in this thread for the other kits.

I suggest contacting Maximum PSI in NJ. They'll be able to set you up with one of our turbo kits, install it, and dyno it, providing a complete solution. If you want more than ~420rwhp, then they can probably put together a higher performance kit using CES components that still utilizes our software tuning.

and i would stay in this HP range is you want to keep your costs at your budget, which you will most likely go over already. I think you have actually set a perfect budget, but you may go over since you want to send your car to a one-stop-BMW FI-shop, and have it setup ready to go without issues...Yer talking a whole turbo system, upgraded clutch and exhaust, at least a refreshed suspension and or upgraded brakes are highly reccomended to be safe and not rip apart your car with the power.

With your budget and turn-key requirements, i would look at purchasing a Technigue Tuning Stage II Kit (~420whp) see if and what sort of upgrades you might want for a little more kick in the pants, and see if there are any qualified shops in your area that can do the installation for you. With your budget you may have $ left for the clutch or exhaust.

Although probably the best and most ideal situation is to listen to Mr. NickG. and send your car to max psi, and call it a day as you would be in some of the best hands, that could quickly send you over budget with shipping the car...

My future plan is steedspeed, 60lbs, piston/rod but keepin Nick G tuning FOR CERTAIN!!!

They are a supporting vendor on this forum, you can ask them yourself. They do not have as many builds under their belt as who has already been mentioned. They are just starting to come around in the bmw turbo build shop world as opposed to the other shops we have mentioned.
