I have some LTWs (real ones from a 1995) that were in pretty bad shape paint wise. No curbing, just faded paint and clearcoat. I was thinking about getting them refinished in silver, but I sprayed them with black plasti-dip just to see how they might look in black. This is a quick pic:

I was thinking of hand-painting the lettering that reads BMW MOTORSPORT to make it stand out a little.

Question: What color should I paint the lettering???

I was thinking BMW Performance yellow, White, Silver (to match the car), or maybe red with a time attack stripe.

Or maybe I shouldn't do it at all. Let me know what you think.

Oh, I'm willing to trade them for 18" CSL reps (the perfect TiAg e46 wheel imo). They are really lightweight for OEM and I know lots of people want them for their e36s. 17x7.5 forged wheels, I have all 5.

Please pay to have them refinished to the OE silver and then sell all 5 to someone who deserves them.

You've wrecked them, and have plans to make them worse.

OP - those are the purists' answers. They're your wheels, do what you like with them. I would have left them original too but a little silver or red paint might look ok. You should have sanded them before painting them though.

Some people are dicks... I would do the lettering in silver. Or do the wheel in silver and the lettering in white.

As above, constructive criticism or GTFO as anybody else isn't subscribing to the "agree to disagree respectfully" rule. :stickoutt

Good job on the plastidip. I would go with red or white/silver lettering with perhaps a similar colour time attack around the rim edge. :)

I was just sayin. He asked for feedback, and I gave it. None was an option, and I went with it - agree to disagree has not yet come into play here

My point is you gave your opinion in a rude way.
