I am heading into my first winter with my 2000 328ci, and I am curious as to what you all might recommend for good traction through the winter season in the chicago area.

Thanks.

Currently I have two matched pairs of yokohama's 16 x 7.0 5 Spoke alloy wheels, 205/55R-16 91H all-season tires

Are you considering a set of dedicated snow tires?

Correct,

Although I think my all season tires will suffice, I would like to get a dedicated set of winter tires and rims.

First off all season tires are not going to cut it in Chicago. I have driven BMW's for 20 years in the midwest and snow tiers are a must if you have to drive the car. I would suggest the Blizzak as the best traction tire I have tested and driven on my own car.
If I can help let me know.
