5 series would use the 15 offset 8.5 wide

iwillpunishyou - on an E39 with the +38 offset, it'll look 'odd' and 'funny'. The right size is the 8.5x19 +15 that renegadevtwin mentions... The spokes on the +38 come right out to the edge of the barrel, so there's no 'lip' - the E46 3 series needs those wheels due to the wheels/suspension setups on those cars.

What do these look like with a stock sport suspension? Does it cause any rubbing if you don't roll your fenders? Also where would I find someone to bore out the centers to fit the 74.1mm e39?

Does not cause rubbing. Offsets are not aggressive for E39.

Google search local wheel machine shop in your area.

It won't look like that.
It'll look fine without a drop. Just get some H&R springs...
