During my lunch break I make the rounds to pay a few bills when all of a sudden I get the dreaded Check Coolant Level warning.. I pull over and check under the hood for leaks, radiator neck is still there, hoses are still in place. Couldn't check fluid levels, car's too hot.. Temperature guage did not move but I did hear a hissing sound, just not sure where it was coming from.

Going to see if I can borrow a pressure tester after work and find where the leak is coming from.

Update, let the car cool down and opened the tank, bobber was only down half an inch so I topped it off.. Going to check it before I leave work.

Christmas can't come soon enough

Wow, that's a pretty sensitive CCL. I've seen mine much lower without tripping the light.

If the coolant was only an inch down when cold - you can be sure that the float was in the right place when the engine was hot. So, more likely to be a failing expansion tank that is leaking into the level sensor - and time for a new one!
