Hi there

You've all seen this before right?

My question is can it change the source on the radio? Can you select CD changer and radio from the rear of the car?

My interest is in learning about this for an iBus project.

Would be interested to hear from an owner who has this unit about the specifics of the operation.

Yes that all should work, just as memory on the pass seat

Can you please help me with some details on it?

1) How do you select CD or tuner? Do you cycle through options or do they appear on the lower display softkeys?

2) Does the unit display the source without any buttons being pressed?

The reason for these two questions are the they indicate the ability for a request of the source, and the setting of a source from a remote unit over the databus.

Hit audio, mid changes then (CD or Radio should already be there)
It's off until you turn it on

Does not work with a BM53/54

Thank you. Do you know what units it is confirmed working on?

Was there ever an OEM rear seat entertainment? I've seen many aftermarket solutions, but I'm not sure about OEM. It seems like a good party piece to install in it even though I'm not driving from the back seats while watching a movie. Hopefully. I don't really see the purpose in rear seat entertainment anyway - I have it in my Range Rover and it was the biggest $2,500 waste of money in my life.

Back seat entertainment sorta requires passengers in the back seat to be entertained. Otherwise, you're right; worthless except for the bling value. :)

I did, but that's just a radio module slapped into a rear center console. I meant a DVD player type thing.

If you have the correct passenger seat with the memory modules on each electric motor (and the different wiring).

True that!
