Shouldn't there be a manual with the tool, explaining the codes?

Searched google for the Preake 00 code and it doesn't exist. Probably an erroroneous code. Try clearing the code and re-do it.

hey 947042 not sure if you have the manual, but have used the same scan tool on my 95 740il should get a FF for the table and you have to use your model and
date to find which table to use in the manual, which if you have a 95 740i or 740il should be table k11, but there is no ob code for a 95 740i or 740il. sure you are reading it right, first time i used mine was out in the sun and was near to impossible to read the thing.

You can download the manual here. (http://peakeresearch.com/manual.htm)

The code is probably 06, not 0b, which is a CAN bus/instrument cluster timing check error. Check the P-code with an OBD scanner - you should get P0600.

Thank's for the feed back. This site is so great. The codes I pulled did'nt Jive with the manual's tables oh well. Anyway I did turn off the check eng. light, and reset oil service light. Then we drove 130miles and the check eng.light did'nt come back on. So guess will just wait till something happens again.
