LCM Going Bad?

My 1998 740iL lately and while the car is driving, the dashlights, turn signals, lighting switches, flashers and fog light switches become inactive, and the dash goes dark. The rear running lights go off. Then it "dings", appears to have reset, shows any error messages (i.e. "check rear lights") and everything returns to normal. This has been happening more often, sometimes every couple of minutes. Sitting in the sun during the day seems to trigger in immediately.

Could this be the LCM? Is a slow and methodical shutdown like this normal?

Check you car's ground and maybe change the ignition switch
