Window regulator?

My passenger side window just stopped going down. It's not the switch as it doesn't roll down with the switch or the key. The motor makes no noise what so ever.

Is it the regulator?

I dont think so, if you're not hearing any noise from the motor it seems that you're motor is burned down, I had a similar issue but I was hearing the motor running, I thought that it was the regulator but I was wrong when bougth a new regulator and when installed the window doesn't come up. It was a gear problem on the motor.

Prob not the regulator, most likely it's the motor, I've replaced 100 of them.

Does anyone know what the cause of this issue is? My sister has a Mini and the motor is gone - it has been replaced four times already, her mechanic and BMW have pretty much walked away from it. It's fine for a day once it's replaced, and then - surprise surprise - it stops working.

crappy motors? I'm in the middle of a similar issue..

the switch appears to work, (swapped it with a different switch)
I hear what sounds to be a relay clicking but not a whisper from the motor or anything in the door.

As far as your sisters MINI I would be interested to know if the motor is getting power when it doesn't work.

If it IS getting power then bad motor. If no power then wiring issue before the motor...

I would be curious to know HOW the motors are failing exactly... gear issues? open circuit? (broken wire/contact internally) or short circuit (faulty wire insulation...)

I've had a similar issue twice. One time doing the motor reset worked, the other time smaching on the door while holding the switch worked.
