Hey guys,
I've been contemplating buying a Gilmour Foam Master II Foam gun, but then I started looking at the foam lances that attach to power-washers.
What's the general consensus if any, are these devices needed, beneficial, and if so, which is best vs price etc.

I have a foam gun, not the Gilmour version, but a similar version. It works well, but doesn't really coat the vehicle with foam like you see in the pictures. The foam doesn't really "sit" on the car with a foam gun.
The foam cannon (or lance) that attach to a pressure washer will give you better foam, and will coat the vehicle better. You just need to make sure that you get a cannon with the correct fitting for your pressure washer.
I just got myself a pressure washer, and am going to be getting a foam cannon soon from Autogeek.

I have both and they're a ton of fun. Foam everywhere but to be honest, they don't really take cleaning to the next level.
Sure, they apply soap (foam) quickly and allow dwell time as well as your lsp will allow.
The hose rinse or the power rinse will remove some dust and dirt but you'll still need to use a mitt/sponge for the final perfect clean.
So, not essential, but fun.
If you go with the foam gun, get one of those brass shut off valves for the hose and use brass quick connects. The switch over from tool to tool will be quick and slick.
If you go with the foam cannon, get an extra quick disconnect for the gun part of the hand gun unit. Long wand off, cannon on. Then reverse.
The cannon on the end of the long wand is really awkward but perfect if you have a quick disconnect added before the wand. I did this mod to my power washer and wish I did it years ago.
