I've seen reference to this method of putting the e38 16x8 style 5's on an e30.
I have a couple of questions since I have a couple sets of these wheels and an e30 wanting something bigger.
Will an 8" et20 wheel really fit the front of an e30? What tire size would you be expecting to fit without stretching fenders. so as not to cause vibrations like on an e34 with really wide fronts?
Any issues in the rear?
Does the centerline of the wheel line up properly with the center of the hub
Anyone have a pic of an e30 with this wheel on it?
Thanks,
Todd

You can make it work. I know 7.5 et25 wheels fit. 8 et20 would only stick out 11mm. You would of course need hub-centric rings. After all the filling and drilling would it be worth it? There are many wheels out there that would fit with no work.

Thought about redrilling some RPF1s for my car, but got scared about redrilling after seeing this pic...

to the above pic, whatever shop did the work forgot the "fill" part. this does look dangerous, however when done right this would look fine.
i'm having my style 5's for the E30 drilled/filled/machined flat/primed and then painted. No caps, i think they look better without. the other holes are for alignment and will also be filled.

Do you know who did these? The work is the best I've ever seen. I have a set of open lug HRE centers I want filled and drilled, and this seems like the place to do it.

Please do. I would really appreciate it.
Pictures of the wheels are here:

Current pattern is 6x135, and I want them redrilled to 5x120. The center bore is a straight through 87mm. The new bolt pattern would be a bit close to the center bore and may require skinnier tuner style lugs/holes. Whoever does the redrilling can be the judge of this; I wouldn't care either way.

Awesome, would have been perfect if they had machined out the mark for cap alignment.
