So, I picked up on the cheap ( 10 bucks ) a set of brand new Energy sway bar bushings and plan to put them on.
The recess in the factory frame horns, obviously, make it impossible to directly R&R the bushings/brackets.
I have some 1/8" thick steel plate I can cut to mount between the frame and the bottom of the bushing. Will that be thick enough so as not to deflect under the load it will see? I recall seeing a while back some vendor ( Turner, whatever ) selling exactly that, plates to do the same thing. I don't know how thick they are, or what the exact composition of the metal.
1/4" thick plate I would think is more than enough, but that brings up thread engagement of the nuts on to the studs, and would make me concerned about shearing of a stud or 4.
TIA
