Hi all
I have a working version of DIS, however i see there is something new? (INPA)? can someone please give me an update of what is the latest version of these 2, and which cars they support.
Also which cable works well with DIS (assume on the 20pin engine bay connector, or will it do that an ODBCII as well?).
INPA is Native windows as well i understand (not UNIX like DIS?)
Many Thanks
Ashley

INPA is not new, INPA are the BMW factory tools used to diagnose ECUs. If you have a working version of DIS (which is the dealership tools) that should be all you need unless you have a requirement to diagnose the new F-Series vehicles (F01/F10/F25). INPA can handle a couple of those tasks, but it's only available in German and not as user friendly as DIS.

Last version of DIS is 57 - VmWare image can be found here: BMW DIS VmWare (http://bmwcoders.com/forum/bmw-gt1-ops-opps-inpa-24/bmw-gt1-group-tester-one-2/).
Last version of INPA is 5.0.2 - it can be found here - BMW INPA + installation guide (http://bmwcoders.com/forum/bmw-gt1-ops-opps-inpa-24/bmw-inpa-ediabas-ncs-expert-tool-winkfp-1/).
Inpa = windows.
DIS is unix, but can be installed in vmware :)

Is this using the new "ISIS" stuff?
What years of BMW will DIS work from > to?
And the final question, assuming a VMware version of DIS, what is a "good" cable to get that will do 20pin and ODBCI / II? (prefer native USB if possible as i don’t like the COMM to USB stuff, can be problematic..
Thanks for the info, quiet clear, dont want to be programming the cars, although might like to change a few fuctjons (day time running lights etc...).
