Front Spring Pad Question

Hi guys I lowered my M3 a while ago on H&R Sport Adjustables but I want my front just a tad lower. I was talking to a guy and he said I could take the front spring pads out. Is that true? Or will it damage the springs? Thanks.

Well, yes you could remove the rubber sound isolation and alignment pads and get another 3mm of lowering maybe. But why?
