Ok, so your all laughing at me I know. I tried putting wheel spacers on myself. FYI to anyone trying this, get someone to help you. Whole tightening my bolts on my e92... I cross threaded 4 bolts on the front right and 3 on the front left. My question to everyone here is, can I 'helicoil' this problem. Drilling out the old threads, using a thread maker and rethreading the holes, then using the helicoil insert? I have already successfully done the left side and they all tightened to the 85lbs. The right side I have yet to do because I don't want to continue if the helicoil would end up coming out. Seems very sturdy (driving up the driveway) but not risking hitting the road until I have more info. Trying to avoid purchasing a new wheel hub, hard to find in my area (Dallas, tx) and really don't want to spend 1,000 plus at the dealership. Any info or words of encouragement would be great, thanks.

The helicoils would have to be EXACTLY on center or you will put sideways torque on the bolts. The bolts will eventually snap. If you got good insurance and get them drilled right, it will save you alot of money though.

i wouldnt trust them....wouldnt you have thought to stop once you ruined one hub?

This is exactly what I was going to say.

if youre not smart enough to correctly put the studs back in correctly, were you smart enough to buy extended lug bolts?

I would bite the bullet and replace the hubs.

Helicoils don't always hold in properly and the last thing you need falling off are the lug bolts.

I did, I only did the left side and it's seems to hold up fine, not too sure about it though, talked to a timeserts rep and they said their thickwall timeserts would be able to handle. Most likely will either have my buddy who's a mechanic, drill larger holes then thread them and places large bolts in, if not then will have to purchase two new hubs.

If the heli-coil was installed correctly then you shouldn't have any problems.

I agree, but if you can't install lug bolts without damaging multiple threads, I would have someone else install them.
