Hi, Just a quick question.

This part I have 2 of(31120964857). They are for a '95 M3, I have a '99 M3.

Sites state that I can use this if I require additional caster. I am going in for an alignment soon and think getting this bushing replaced isnt a bad idea as I have 2 just sitting here doing nothing. Mine are not in bad shape but they are showing surface cracks in the web.

So, my question is this:

The hole should be positioned at the bottom (closest to the ground), correct? This pushes the back of the wishbone down which causes the spindle to be pushed towards the front of the vehicle adding additional caster?

(PS. I have swapped my top hats, replaced my tie rods... etc etc. My second question is will it hurt anything if these are installed or should I order some '99 bushings instead)

Those are for '95s. I would not put them on a '96+ car. They will mess with the geometry, and IIRC will make the tire contact the front bumper/inner fenderwell.

Don't do it. I believe it pushes the tires forward into the wheel well and will rub.

Makes no sense to use something that wasn't designed for the correct application. If you're going for an alignment, you're just wasting your money.

Whoever told you that is correct, it will result in more castor, but he's an idiot for thinking or suggesting the E36 needs it.

If you are still using the 96+ control arms, spindles, and strut mount bearings, use the centered bushings. Period! End of discussion...
