I am buying a 2006 330i that needs the front hood and bumper re painted. What is the typical cost and does anyone know a body shop to suggest in Los angeles???

Would also like to get the back bumper touched up....

To get it done right? Look to spend a couple grand.

Just for the hood and bumper? I've had Wrecked cars that needed body work and paint done foe less than 2grand....

Im in the same boat, I've had bumpers painted for about $300. I'm guessing at least $300 if not a little more for the hood. This was from a reputable place.

For $2000 you can get a SUPER nice paint job on the whole car including minor body work.

I agree $300-500 for all the work you mentioned is reasonable. For a decent body shop just call your insurance company and see who they recomend. My dad was an insurance adjuster for 25 years. They don't mess around with "fly by night" operations.

Average price is $300-$400 for the hood, $200-$300 for each fender (assuming no bodywork is needed).

Sorry, but $2000 wont get you a super nice job on the whole car. The cost of materials alone can hover well around $1500 at least. Not to mention the OP is in California, where the waterborne paint is mandatory and is costs a lot more that the solvent paint.

take it to mexico and get the entire car painted. They have lead based paint down there!

I just got quoted $700 to repaint my hood, both bumpers and the tops of the fenders. Very reputable shop in my area (although I do know them so I'm sure that factored into the price.)

I can see why you asked. Bodywork prices are all over the place. Just got a quote for RF fender plus hood. Hood part was refinish only and was 274.00. This is from a shop I know does good work, is connected to a German car garage and does insurance jobs as well. Warning, some shops will tell you they have to blend fresh paint onto fenders to make it look good. Add 125.00 for the blending. Depends on how perfect you want it to be.

Ive gone to 2 BMW certified shops for having my hood repainted. Both wanted about $700 for the hood and then $200-300 for the front bumper. In both these case, the original parts were going to be sanded down the metal, primered and painted.
