What other size than 235/40/17 can I use?

Hello-

I am in search of getting new tires and would like to get the Kumho MXs, but they don't make them in 235/40/17. What would be a good alternate size that would not significantly affect gearing or speedometer? Can I use 245/40/17s?? I am using 17x8 rims.
