I'm coming up on my last scheduled service under warranty at around 48,000 miles. I'm thinking of paying for an extra hour of labor to do some inspections to see if anything qualifies for replacement/repair under warranty. The car has been flawless so far. Beyond brake pads and clutch, what else should I have the tech's check as potentially going bad?

It really depends on how hard you have driven it... check the belts maybe?

They rarely replace things that are not broken already (i.e. warranty does not cover preventive replacement). It is not a bad idea to do a check, but chances are they will comeup with close to nothing. Take it in after the warranty and the list could magically grow! Good luck anyway.

Larsd4, isn't there another year left on your warranty??? You do state that it's a 2008. So should be good till 2012....

He's at 48k miles and it ends at 4yr or 50k miles, whichever first. Also, the start/end date is not on a calendar year. It begins when the car was first sold/leased and ends 4years from that date, or 50k, whichever first.

yeah i feel like they could know shit is wrong but won't tell you unless you knew and brought it up, otherwise they'll bring it up first visit after your warantee is up. You know those service advisors make commission right?
