I was wondering if it was normal to feel a click whenever the clutch engages. Thanks.

You press down on the clutch, when the clutch engages the gear, it feels like a spring pops into place

See you are confusing us more. When you press down the clutch, you actually disengage it thus essentially disconnecting the transmission from the engine. The clutch does not engage the gear, you do when you change gears or put the car in gear, you then release the clutch to allow the transmission to be connected to your engine via the clutch plate/flywheel.
See here (http://auto.howstuffworks.com/clutch.htm) for more details.

So my question again is: at which exact stage do you hear a click?

sorry, I meant after you disengage the clutch, as you are bring up the clutch to re-engage it, it sounds and feels like something is springing back into place. I wasn't sure if that was the normal habit of the clutch re-engaging.
