Hello all,

I am trying to do some maintenance on my special lady friends 08' Mini Cooper and I am having a hard time finding the right code reader to use on her car. I have found plenty of them, but they don't include the 2008 year.

Specifically, I was hoping to reset the service light on the car, which is a mini on a lift. If anyone can advice if this is included in its capabilities that would be greatly appreciated.

I tried searching online a lot but wasnt able to find anything that was compatible.

thanks!

The Bavarian Tech tool is simply astounding and excellent for such things:

Hey,

That looks like a mighty tool but I was hoping for something more similar in price to the peake tool. If one exists, can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks!

On an R56 MINI you can reset the service light without any tool just doing it through the cluster, similar to an E90.

But if you want to do diagnostics, the bavarian Technic software (http://www.waymotorworks.com/bavarian-technic-diagnostic-software.html) is really pretty good for the home person.

If you don't have the owners manual, it's available on line from Mini USA in the owners lounge.

As said, not tool needed to reset the service lite.

A scan gaugeII is really useful. It reads OBD2 parameters, and reads and clears all codes, $160ish.
