I have dropped the price, 10,500 dollars for people on the forum w/all the extra stuff and both sets of wheels, only for a short time....after that auto trader for the original price. I am not sure what else I do to sell the car...

I am selling my 1991 850i V-12/6speed. Might be open to a trade, send me what you got. As you can see below I have more in the car then the asking price. I travel heavy for work and spend a lot of time on the road, the car sits in the garage and never gets driven. I will work with the right person on shipping the car, if needed; I would prefer a local sale.

There were only 7,232 of the E31 cars brought into the USA, only 4,194 were V-12’s and only 847 were 6 speeds. There are lots of details and good information at bimmerfourms, 8coupe.com and other sites, so I will spare the model details.

Clean GA Title in my name, Carfax available from when I bought the car, no changes in the history. There is a very complete and extensive service history available on the car. The PO put in a new stereo MB Quarts speakers and Infinity powered sub, JVC HD head unit. Windows are tinted. Currently has a set of BBS by ASA 17” wheels with Goodyear F1 on steer and Michelin Pilot A/S on drive. I have a set of ASA 19’s with General tires that can go with the car. The MID was just rebuilt and work with no dead pixels.

Serial Number WBAEG131XMCB42274

Mileage 118,xxx

The Good,
Car has just had extensive engine head work completed but a reputable local BMW shop. The heads were removed and a complete rework of the heads were completed (New guides, seals valve job etc.). The engine was completely resealed with all new gaskets, New head bolts, all new motor/trans mounts. New rubber though out ( all power steering hoses, radiator hoses, fuel hoses, Injector O-rings, Vacuum hoses PCV etc…) A new clutch was installed as well as rebuilding the shifter, new water pump, new throttle body etc… 2 new interstate battery’s Lots and lots of work was done. This was about 10K in work receipts included.
Other work that was just completed,
4/10 Control arm bushing’s replaced, new spark plug coils
4/09 New Fan clutch
7/07 new radiator
2005 complete re-spray with original color, all weather stripping replaced.

The Bad,
Intermediates check engine light. Code 1222, which could be an O2 sensor, I have not driven the car much in the last 6 months, the light comes and goes it does not affect the performance of the car.
Car needs to be aligned, when the shop pulled the engine they dropped the cradle, and that threw of the steering wheel, it is just off center.
AC does not have a charge; it would not pull a vacuum after they reinstalled the engine, so I did my part to save the environment. I was told it was just a slow leak, needs a seal or something. I was going to fix it later.

I have a 8MB file on the car with pictures history etc...that I can email,

Pictures are at

BUMP

OP is an honest seller. I just received the other E31 he was selling and everything is as described. Transaction went off smoothly and communication was outstanding.

Mind you, I bought the car from out of state, sight unseen, and am pleased with the way everything worked out.

Thanks OP!

OK, final price drop, 12,500 dollars or trade, it is a steal at that price. I have had a few requests for pictures of the wheels, here you go.

If I sell my M5 for $15k, buy this, I will have $2500 left over for WHEN it breaks. I wonder how long that will last me...

Beautiful car, I just bought one...wish I had seen yours. I was just in ATL to look at a 850i manual burgandy at ATL Fine Cars. I got a black on black, 850i manual from a fellow in Reidsville, NC... It's been my dream car for years! :)

Finally got around to mounting the 19's on the car. Took the car for a spin, really like this car. Hopefully I will be able to address the other issues and get the car moved. I will get some better pictures of the car this weekend with my good camera and post on all the other listing sites.

Thanks for looking.

How did that calypsorot 6-spd look in the ATL? I've been itching to go take a look at it.

I guess I should not be using this thread. The dealer has three other 8 series. So I hope we are talking about the same car. I test drove it and it seemed sound as far as the transmisiion and motor. Exterior and Interior were not in very good condition. Really would need a good paint job and the front bumper was cosmetically in not very good condition. Head liner was damaged on the sunroof, like someone had started to fix it and didn't finish the project. MID worked with all LEDs (LCD?). AC was not working...Nice car but would need a lot of cosmetic work. Hope that helps! Scott

It does not bother me that you are using this tread to discuss another car. This is my competition, so it is fair to compare apples to apples. in the end it only shows the advantages of mine. I do not see the calypsorot listed anymore on there site. There is a green 92 listed. The major difference that I see is this car is a auto. If you have the link to the calypsorot one, please post it. I would like to look at it. Here is the link to the car. http://www.atlfinecars.com/newandusedcars/0/553414/8f23bb42-751e-4ef2-ae94-89f98b25aa33/none/1992-BMW-8Series-Jonesboro-GA-30236.aspx

I was fortunate enough to test drive this car yesterday.
The body and interior are in great shape for a +100k mile car.
Suspension showed no signs of slop, the motor was smooth & responsive, and transmission shifted true and smooth.

This car was #2 on my buy list, but a extremely low mileage 91 850 got my savings.

Thanks Matt, and good luck with your sale!

Just noticing this today. Yes your car is really nice. I can't understand why the 8's don't sell. I did want a manual so that is what I got. My nature is to second guess my decisions however.

Below is the link to the 850i 6spd that I looked at in ecause ATL. The dealer is a true dealer. I was told by a friend that even a Persian wouldn't buy something from another Persian. The staff there was nice enough and let me test drive it....ran out of gas on the test drive because the fuel gauge wasn't working! I spent about an hour before closing looking over the car with Tom Carters pre-inspection list and then a couple of more hours the next day. No records whatsoever, the salesman didn't seem to think they were important. I didn't feel comfortable w/o any history plus it needed quite a bit of work. If I had deep pockets I might make him an offer he couldn't refuse then restore the car.

I think yours is priced well if not underpriced given the historical information (facts) you have provided. Good luck with yours I hope you can find the right buyer and it goes to a good home.

Atlanta Fine Cars...there are also 2 other 8's listed. They had 4 on the lot when I visited
