I'm pretty new into detailing heres what I plan on doing (please critique):

1: Wash off old wax and what not with meguiars car wash and dawn soap

2: Dry car off
-Whats the best way to dry without adding swirls

3: Clay bar with meguiars clay and quick detail

4: Wash again??

5: Polish stage 1 with XMT #4 with yellow pad?

6: IPA wash down??

7: Polish stage 2 with XMT #2 with grey pad?

Here's where I need some help

8: Filler/ glaze...dont own any product but need some recommendations

9: Klasse High Gloss glaze 2x coats

10: Sealant...dont own any product but need some recommendations, do I need this?

dawn soap is bad for your clear coat. just wash, rinse, clay (you can do it with the water left on the car from washing if your just looking for a basic claying, itll help strip the wax off as well) then dry with a shammy or blow it off with a aircompressor, leaf blower then wipe it down with a microfiber. polish then wax.

thats just a basic like spiff after you wash your car every so often kinda thing.

use the 2 bucket method when washing so as not to introduce swirls and scratches - do the wheels and tires separately - either 1st or last and change the water before moving on the the rest of the car

Dawn soap isn't bad for your clear coat especially if you're only using it a couple times a year. Read up on it.

I use Dawn soap when I am getting ready to do a full detail. It's a good way to strip off the wax that is still left over from the previous detail. I have never had any problems with it.

I don't use Dawn if I am only going to be laying down a new layer of polish, only if I am going to clay/wax/polish the vehicle. So it only gets used once (sometimes twice) a year.
