Hello!

I recently replaced my left rear tail light, and everything went fine. No errors nothing. Brake Light worked fine.

I recently opened up my trunk and noticed that the cover that protects the light housing unit was not secured properly. I put it back in its place and now when I start my car I get a light bulb with a exclamation point. Note: All lights work. Any ideas here? Nothing seems loose and it appears that all the lights work?! Is there a way to reset?

Thanks for your time

Are you sure your brake light is working? How about the brake lights that come only under hard braking. Those are tough to detect if out or not connected.

Thanks for the reply. How do I ensure that everything is connected? I just find it odd that after I put the cover on in the trunk that this light turns on now?? Just strange?

You may have tweaked something and cause the connectors to be misaligned. Do a search, there was a recent post where someone ran into a similar problem, it may help you.

Do the E9x models suffer the poor grounding on the rear lights as the E46 models did? Because that could be the issue too.
