328xi starts in 1st gear

When I bought my 2011 328xi, I was told that in standard auto mode, it starts in 2nd gear. That was good since the first gear is so weak. But it still is starting in 1st gear and I have 7,800 miles on it. Am I wrong that this should start in 2nd?

I'm pretty sure my auto starts in 1st gear. If you use the Steptronic, you can start in 2nd gear, however.

Actually....auto ds is also starting in 1st. Manual mode will downshift to 2nd.

It all depends on how you drive. If you don't drive hard off the line, the car will start in 2nd because it decides you don't need 1st. Get the adaptions cleared if you want it to start in 1st
