I was trying to reset service light shorted out port! I can start car by bypassing starter but doesn't start with key. I bought a diagnostic tool but it doesnt work in the car? any ideas?

Check the fuses and the battery. And BTW, next time please try to use a more descriptive title.

Check the fuses behind the glovebox. There are several that relate to the no-start. Best way is with a fuse test light made by Buss. It allows you to backprobe each fuse w/o removing it. If the light comes on, the fuse is good.

Before you do this again, mark the two terminals with some white paint or correction fluid.
