Mini rear bike rack

SO i bought this bike rack for a Mini..really nice high end job.. turns out does not fit my car..
it says 07+ I have an 05. Has anyone ever retro fit one to the 06? if not I guess Ill sell it cheap..

no they won't take it back since package has been opened and there was partial construction of the brackets.
