I love e38 interiors because I came from an e34 :)

but that interior has just a little too much going on, looks cluttered

An interesting set of pics. Because there is a cool box fitted, the usual rear seat pack has had to be re located, with the duplicate computer going to the roof, the phone to the B post, and the passenger seat controls mounted on the centre console. I've not seen those large wood trays before nor the wood surround to the front phone

I would take it minus the TV and FAX machine.

+1. Those items make the car look a little dated IMO

Are the switches down low on the rear part of the center console seat adjustment switches? I've never seen switches there before.

Writing tables FTW!
In BMW speak the writing table is not the glossy wood slabs you see, but the item attached to the back of the driver seat, in pics 2-4. It unclips completely, has storage for plenty of A4 paper, and 2 pens. The writing surface even has a clip for the paper-its a classy item. More usually this is seen on the back of the passenger seat, as a chauffered passenger would sit in the back and use those seat controls to move the passenger seat forward to give more room on the move. Those controls are usually in the rear armrest, which is much neater, but the deep armrest required to fit the computer in is too deep when either a coolbox of ski hatch is fitted
