Hi, Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get all the black off the exhaust tips? A friend told me to use mineral spirits, but I don't know how safe that is. They are not chrome by the way.

Since I have tried a few things the best I have found is rubbing compound. I doubt anything like mineral spirts will help since Acetone didn't even phase my black soot.

I used mothers mag and polish cream. Worked great.

Huh .... I have some of that! I tried to use it around my cloudy door trim and I had not luck, but it never thought about using it on the exhaust tips. Thanks for the tip! =)

I like some 0000 steel wool and wheel acid. Works great.

I like the 0000 steel wool and then follow up with some P21S polishing soap
