Someone is selling a 15% underdrive pulley that I'm considering picking up. I wanted to know how difficult the install was. I don't have the tool, would it be best to just take it to a shop? What can I expect to spend for an install?
Thanks

I've heard if you have experience doing it you can do it without the special tool, but no experience and no tool you should have the shop do it.

Probably 2 hours labor for someone familiar with the process. Not a super difficult diy, but without tools and/or someone to help who has done it before, you are better off hiring it done. btw, it will transform your car. do it!

I've looked at WMW's install DIY and I feel confident that we can do it. The only problem is the tool. Alta rents one out, but I don't like their pulley design as much as WMW, which sells the tool for $90-- no rentals. I guess I could always resell it, but still. I'm going to see if I can find someone local who has one first.

WMW does rent the tool when you buy their pulley you just have to call and request it. Don't try to do the pulley without the puller, you can easily damage an expensive supercharger.

Thanks, I finally got a message back from WMW last night saying the same thing.
I'm planning on getting the 15% package http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-pulley-package.html
I'll order it in a week or two and install it while we do some routine maintenance on the car.

Have a shop install it. Having Aren DIY this is going to turn into a huge headache. I've had several customers start it themselves and give up haha.
