Any help with getting this out.

Confucius says "No good deed goes unpunished"

I let my daughter borrow the car for two weeks and on day one, cassette adapter is stuck, not sure I'm going to make the full two weeks...

Anyway, I searched the threads and not coming across what I need to get this solved.

I tried using the cord to pull it out, but it seemed misaligned and hitting some metal piece preventing it from coming out.

Your tape player is broken at this point. Press eject and pull the cord jiggling it as you pull. If that doesn't work hit eject, and pull the cord hard. There is no smooth way of doing this. If pulling the cord hard doesnt work sadly you have to get a screw driver in there and TCB.

Happened to me a few years ago. I had to go the screwdriver route. Tape player never worked after that. Makes a clicking noise when I try to go in tape mode. It really doesn't bother me as I use a wireless adapter with my IPod. Not a perfect set-up but it works. I got rid of all my tapes anyways.

So is it still stuck in there? How were you able to get it out? Is your tape broken now? Funny thing is...(and this is before I saw your post...wierd) I was playing around with my cassette adapter just a while ago and did not like the sound. It lacks bass. I don't know why. But, thank goodness I was able to eject the freakin' thing. Scrap that idea.

First week without the car. Haven't had a chance to see if I can get it out. Another week to go...
