Hey all, new here at Bimmerforums, just looking for a little insight.

Ive been on here for some time, reading and reading, trying to gain some knowledge before making the big purchase. Everyones posts have been greatly appreciated, and have helped a lot through my decision making on what exactly I'm looking for in a BMW. This being my first BMW, I want my first purchase to suit me just right!

I've been searching and searching, and trying to find something with the features that I'm looking for. A 335i coupe, with as many bells and whistles as possible. Of course I know I'm going to have to make some sacrifices, and I'm most definately prepared to do so. Because of other expenses I carry, something under $30,000 would suit me perfectly; and i think i found it!

What I would absolutely appreciate from those of you with more experience than myself, is some advice on what I have found. Anything of this particular vehicle that I should look out for. I understand that 2007 was the beginning of the E9X models, and there were a few faults, (from my understanding) but should that be something I should steer away from?

Anyways, enough with the chat! Below is a link to the vehicle I've been looking at. I'm located in Toronto, Ontario; if that changes anything at all.

Once again, i appreciate everyones advice, both positive and negative.
Thanks in advance Bimmerforums!

So I had to convert the 72,000 km to miles (44,000 miles) because I thought WOW that's high miles for a 2007 to still be 30k. Lol

I say it looks like a good deal I'd definitely ask for new mats that drivers side mat looks filthy.

Other than that I think it's a pretty reasonable deal. I know the 335 has a few problems with it's fuel delivery system, but as far as I know it's covered under warranty until 100,000 miles from BMW. I'm sure a lot of guys on here would give you better insight than me since I own a 328xi. But again doesn't look bad.

Remember to request CARFAX and VERY IMPORTANTLY....... service history. Good luck

This looks like roughly the ballpark it should be priced at. Check the conditions of the tires the paint for flaws and double check that it had it plugs replaced at 45000 miles under warranty like the manual says it should (dealers will let that one slide past 50000 so it's not covered under warranty unless you have the extended maintenance plan.). I think you still have a little wiggle room on price. I would try to get out the door at no more than that list price

Just noticed it's manual. I definitely think you still have some wiggle room. Also about the warranty has the 4 year indeed expired? Just check what maintenance has been done and what is due

Thanks again fellas!

My first question to him when I called was price negotiation. Because im not buying it from a dealer, I'd prefer knowing I literally stole it lol. Provided it was well serviced and there arent any major flaws in the paint, I'd say she's a keeper. If we are able to come to an agreement, I'll take her home tomorrow. Just slightly skeptical about buying from a second hand dealer.

"!***DEALER INSPECTIONS ARE WELCOME** CARPROOF OR CAR FAX AVAILABLE! HONEST FAMILY BUSINESS, SAFTEY AND E-TEST INCLUDED"

That line is what really caught me, so provided its no BS, I think i should be okay. I'll be sure to get back to you on how the deal went tomorrow when I get back from the dealer!

Wish me luck!

What maintenance SHOULD have been done already? At that mileage? 44,000miles as posted above. Anything i should look forward too? Or questions I should have for the dealer?

The service manual says new spark plugs at 45000 for the 335. If it's already past warranty though (date not miles obviously) that means you'll be paying for those plugs/tuneup. Just wanted to point that out

Thanks a lot to everyone for their input. Getting anxious for tomorrow lol.

Last question for now fellas,

Get the last 7 digits of the VIN, call your local BMW dealer and get some background info, they can also tell you what packages it has "ie sport, cold weather...". Who knows it may have the extended service plan, an extended warranty, ect ect. Find out if it's had the HPFP replaced, if so how many times. Find out if it was regularly serviced, how many miles/kilometers between oil changes ect. I love the looks of the 335i, I love that they are technology moguls, but when you have that much tech in a car you need to make sure it's been well taken care of. Just my $.02

That was a great help! I'll be sure to call in the morning before i go take a look at the car! If that HPFP was replaced more than once, or not replaced at all, what issues would i face with that?

If it's been more than once it means they havent used the updated HPFP, either way that part itself is covered by a 10yr/120,000mile/~193,000km warranty. It's one of the few parts you'd actually need to worry about :)
If it hasnt been replaced, if you buy it take it to the dealer and have them do it under recall.

based on the wheels and the seats, it does have the sports package. I can also see the buttons on the mirror for the premium package- yes the ad does say these as well, but ads can say lots of things.... Enjoy it!

Just got back from the dealer! Checked the carproof, clean! The car came from california however, not sure if that makes a difference. The HPFP was changed in Cali, more than once, and BMW bought the car back from him for the full price, and replaced it based on a Lemon Law over there. Warranty was up in May 2011, so I'm going to have to make sure everything is sound before I take it over. According to the list the dealer gave me, it has premium package, sports package, Logic7 sound system; a few other bells and whistles.

Cool. As I mentioned earlier, it still sounds like it needs it's plugs replaced, and since you've confirmed its out of warranry, just keep that in mind you'll be footing that bill (which can be expensive at a BMW dealer) Overall though sounds like its a pretty good deal.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on their input on this vehicle, before my modding posts begin! Sale was finalized today, just waiting for him to make a few changes for me before I pick it up from him (Shift knob slightly peeled, and front ash tray scratched fairly badly). Thanks for welcoming me, and you'll be seeing me around here a lot more often! Happy tuning everyone!
