Took my car through a car wash and the color on the hood's roundel was washed off. Ordered one off ECS tuning, got a removal tool too (basically those things airport security wraps around ur check in luggage, those tough bands). Tried removing it gently. Eventually, i was getting pissed and used force, and the removal tool broke (95 cent piece of crap :D). Is there a way to remove it properly. Maybe the rubber grommets melted. :help
BTW the car wash took off the mirror cover for the drivers side. WTF? I'm not going back.

That video makes it look easy...my old ones were a pain to get off. The key is to get something under one edge and rock it up a bit, then move to the other side. Go back and forth between each side. A casing removal tool works better than a screw driver...or a chisel. Something flat and wide. It may take a while, but you'll get it.
Oh yeah, make sure to get new grommets before you take it out cause your old ones will be toast if the emblem is really hard to get off.

I'm annoyed, I only have my new one about a year and already the blue has started to peel. It was OEM off eBay too.

My replacement was a breeze. Used some old health care cards and a thin flat head screwdriver. My emblem went missing after a 300 mile drive to State College PA. Drove with it like that 3 years until I went to sell the car. I replaced the emblem for the ebay pics.

The thing to use to get these emblems off is the plastic bands they wrap around packages (like big boxes that TVs are packaged in). They are 1/2" wide 1-2mm thick. They are very strong and slip right under the emblem. Grasp with both hands and pull. The emblem will pop right off. The dealer gave me a strip of this stuff when I bought my emblem.

Maybe the thieves who stole mine can lend you a hand... They had no problem removing mine.

Dental floss and gloves. Wrap the dental floss around the tabs several times, then around your hands. Pull up.
Careful about eBay roundels. Some are so cheap the white is slightly blue, or they fade within a summer. Also you seem to get ones without dimension to them. The chrome isn't raised on the lettering. Overall they look like cheap replicas, and there is nothing worse than that.

I just used some of my old casino players club cards, some duck tape, & a flat head screw driver to get my roundels off....Takes all of 3 seconds!!!

you can change only the inner metal part and not the whole emblem ...
The metal part is glued with glue or silicone to the plastic holder.
They come apart easily with a screwdriver ( carefuly).
These things fade according to the degree of sun and heat..in here, i have to change them yearly, back and front..I have Alpina ones and the red fades horribly..
But hey, for 20$, I can change them easily..
