Hello i was just wondering if there is any difference between a US spec 328 coupe and EURO spec 328 coupe in the spare parts
i mean any parts can be exchanged or there are some differences ???
and if i want to change the guages to Meteric unit is it a problem ? or just changing the guages with a metric ones ( plug & play )
same thing for the climate control it's in fahrenheit and i want to change it to celsius all i have to do is to buy a new unit in celsius and plug it and play ???? or there is any modification ??????????
same thing goes for the trip computer
and is 155k miles a lot for a 328 or it still has a lot more to give ?? i mean is it going to be reliable if it was well maintained ??
thanks so much

If you want metric stuff just get some canadian parts. I believe the main differences would just be lighting and some computer programing differences to match the differences in emissions requirements.

Since you dont like searching- the difference between Euro and US 328 coupe is that the EURO has the soul of Hitler in it, so when you're topping over 100km/h you can hear Hitler chant, ""Reading is not an end to itself, but a means to an end."- Adolf
The US spec on the other hand has four turbines in the back, most people dont notice this cause' they have a trunk cover aka "trunk". If you take your trunk off, the turbines will be exposed.

So, soul of hitler vs batmobile. Your choice.

Thanks very much for your reply
first of all i'm from Egypt
and there's a 328 coupe for sale but it's US spec and i'm a bit afraid about the parts
we have parts here but i'm not sure if they are Euro or US spec
and here we use metric stuff so imperial guages might be annoying if you live in a country where everything is metreic :rolleyes
so i want someone to tell me if it's only a small thing to convert the car into meteric stuff... just plug & play
and do i have to change the computer of the car ??? because it's going to read Miles and the car will read KMs !!!!
please HELP
Thanks very much

The OBC and AC controls can be changed via the OBC to Centegrade/Metric IIRC. Cluster would probably have to be swapped for Metric. Same engine, but I've heard that the US cars were de-tuned due to the gasoline being of lower quality.

Really ?????????? so i don't have to change the AC controls ?????
Thats a really really pleasing news :)
and the cluster replacement i think is not a big deal
and it's good that the cars are de tuned because of the lower quality petrol because here in Egypt the petrol is not premium :)
Thanks very much for the reply but could you please tell me how to change the OBC and the AC controls to metric ??????????
thanks very very much for your reply

I really don't think there is a diff besides the emissions stuff and metric. I am here in Germany and I have found only a small few things that are not the same on the 328's. I too would lime to know if there is a difference in engine tunes. But after running with them on the autobahn they seem the same.

Oh and the fuel is the same here they just rate it on a differant scale. The block was made cast so it would not be affected by the additives in the fuel back then. The cast block is not US specific though. After that I don't know the tune difference.

I'm looking to change my temperature control from celsius to fahrenheit, if anyone knows how I'd love to know.
Thanks

That must be coded. You can't do it by pressing a couple of buttons.

Dealer can do it. US spec is most likely less powerful.
