Hello, all.
I got this car back in September for dirt cheap due to some different problems. Mostly mechanical.
Recently after getting the car all sorted out, I decided to try and figure out why my OBC (which is the lame one, with like 6 buttons) didn't work.
Well, I definitely found the problem--all the wires were cut.
I then took it upon myself to splice all of the connections back together in attempts to salvage the thing.
Before, my spedo, RPM gauge, gas gauge, and engine temperature were working. (The mileage, what gear you were in, and the message board were dead)
After splicing all of the connections back together and putting it all neatly away, I put the ignition to the "on" position and everything but the service lights (check engine, ABS, SRS, etc) were off. No spedo, RPM gauge, nothing.
You can imagine that I'm freaking out. If you can't, I can assure you that I am.

I'll check again, but I'm pretty sure they were all a different color, and I was sure to connect them to their proper mate.

I assume you spliced them back with the battery disconnected?
Shorts do happen...

You couldn't imagine how stupid I feel right about now.
No, I did not.
I just got so busy in doing stuff today, that very important step didn't register... Thank you for doing the rest of the thinking that my brain ever so kindly failed to do today.
I'll go check all of my fuses, etc tomorrow and get back with you guys.

Really? I do a lot of electrical work, and it can be pretty difficult to troubleshoot a problem with the battery disconnected. Even then, I largely won't bother disconnecting power unless it's something like an alternator, but probably not.
