What is the difference between a E39 with sport package and without? Is it faster? Better suspention? Brakes? I know the wheels are different, but thats all I know.

MUCH firmer suspension, and differeny wheels/tires. other than that... different seats and different steering wheels (not in 525).

brakes I don't know.

I have an E39 with sport on my 2003 540 and the few things I do know are:

- For the 2003 year M style bumpers and body aprons were included
- M logo on the sport styled steering wheel, doorsills
- Trim on bumpers and door moldings is Black instead of body color matched on non-sport
- wheels are different style and maybe bigger rims (18")
- Suspension is stiffer and a slightly harsher ride is noticed, but still very acceptable.
- Handling is improved in my opinion
- It isn't faster (more HP) than the non-sport, brakes may be the same
- A different interior headliner, I think it is called Anthracite, very nice

They may be a few more I can't recall at the moment, but I will say the sport package is worth the extra cost.

Lower geared rear end as well as top speed electronic limit is raised.

So is the sport a better option than a regular 528i? Is it worth the extra cost?
