a while back i sheered by diff bolt since then cars been on stands.
the front bushing has the metal ring inside for the bolt to go through, well mine is very deformed.

does anybody have a line on JUST the front diff mount bushing?

the back 2 are fine for now so i wana spend as little as possible as im saving up for the TMS kit that has everything and it might be awhile so i wanted to fix atleast this one before putting the diff back in

also a line on a better bolt?

this whole bmw "10.9" bolt felt "soft" when drilled out of the diff, softer then a grade 8 it seems, i was almost thinking of a titanium bolt just to ensure this didnt happen again (though yes i know it broke b4 because it had way to much play ill post pics of the bushing ring soon)

FCP Groton has about the best prices on OEM dif bushings. they sell just the front two or just the back two.

Their listing is a little confusing. They list them as rear carrier bushings. But that doen't mean they are the ones for the rear of the carrier. It means the dif is in the rear of the car... DUH!!!! If you arent 100% sure which ones to order just email them. They got back to me right away when I was ordering mine.

Yes, a 10.9 is slightly less brittle than a 'grade 8'.
When you order the bushing, order the BMW bolts.
You want them to bend, not snap.

They're plenty strong for what they do.

Also, check your flanges- it's quite likely that the
bolts were loose, rounded out the holes, THEN broke-
the bolts themselves serve to clamp the 2 flanges together,
and when everything is working right, all they do is clamp-
the flange friction transmits the torque.
