And here is proof. I will take the E39 M5 touring (only one built by BMW) and I will also take the E31M as well as the holy grail... The E34 M5 drop top. But just for sheer rarity not b/c I would actually want one.

Haha, i have the article about the e31. Those are not covers, they are 2 piece wheels with the center piece made of kevlar. The headlight were removed to save weight.
The engine: 6.0L V12 making 550hp. :eyecrazy

Those are the first "far away and non-fuzzy" pictures I've seen of the M8 prototype. What a machine. Thanks for posting those.

A world exclusive feature in the February 2010 issue of BMW Car Magazine, however, revealed that the M8 prototype still exists in its entirety.[7] The car was unveiled for the first time in front of journalists on July 2, 2010 at the BMW Museum in Munich.[8]

You sure? I know the M-Systems that are on my car well and those looke exactly like an M-System with a CF cover instead of the turbine or T-Star cover.

Love the engine bay on that thing. Wonder how similar that engine is to the one they put in the McLaren's.

Maybe, but I'm not sure I care for the look too much. It'd be nice to know if they were designed for a specific purpose or not.

Yes, i am positive about it. I have the article in front of me. BMW CAR magazine, February 2010.
