Ya, they are pitted a bit, and the previous owner curb rashed 'em a tad. Figured I'll just repaint them. So, that begs the question....what color?! :dunno
Should I go for something gunmetally? Bright? Dull? Black? I needs to look good with the Dakar Yellow II exterior car color.
Any factory colors (from any manufacturer) that would look nice as I'll be ordering the paint? I don't want the stock color, and from what I heard, it can't be had anyway. D'oh!
Thanks for the help.

Well, in your defense maybe you have signatures turned off. Ha. It's a Dakar Yellow II 1999 M Roadster.

I saw an M coupe with flat black wheels. Most likely powdercoated. Looked pretty sweet on the phoenix yellow.

2-min pshop job, you get the idea. I think black/gunmetal rims w/ polished lips look absolutely sick on yellow cars. I would do it if it were me.

That's awesome Bugkiller! ...but I'm not sure it's my style. I'm thinking of keeping it all one color. I'll be doing the work myself so I want to keep the steps down.
So, hmmm...what are some good silver/aluminum colors? Anybody know some stock body or rim colors that would be good for this? I'm more than willing to track down the paint code (for example, for the stock rims on a 2001 Miata, or whatever) as I've got to order the paint anyway.
I'd love to do stock 2001+ Chrome Shadow, but rumor has it that you can't buy that here in the states. :complain

i agree that black is hot, and i dont think it would be too much work for them to just mask off the area you dont want black.

my opinion is that unless its a beautiful powdercoated rim it remindes me of some factory winter rims....
my winners are gunmetal and black+polished lip (but everyone is getting this setup now...i liek to be different)

I dont think they will look right with a polished lip as there is no definative line between the spokes and the lip
