Does anyone know about how long do they last?

Normal driving conditions. . . such as Daily driving. . . no track events and such.

Should last longer than a traditional clutch because SMG has perfect clutch engagement.

Yeah, that's what I am thinking. . . but does BMW give you an expected Clutch Life in terms of miles?

It is exactly the same as a standard 6-speed M3. Simply replace the clutch, same way as your E36.

Yeah, it is the same as replacing the clutch. Probably a bit more difficult in terms of electronics though.

Yes on the SMG there are more parts to be disconnected and the SMG hydraulic system needs to be primed up, SMG ECU needs to be reset as well.

Ferrari's F1 system is renowned for making clutches so away in around 10K miles. Perfect, but still in a hard way.

Haircut heard about SMG yet.
